Sandy

Backstory

Sandy came from the infamous 2024 hoarding case rescue. Her journey has been a long fight, with surgeries, dental procedures, medicines, and many times of resilience. Yet throughout all the times when it was thought she wouldn't make, she always pulled through with her gorgeous smile. 

Sandy had numerous issues when she was pulled from the hoarding case. At first, we believed she wasn't going to survive. She was emaciated, weighed 500 grams, and with incissors so long they were growing into her cheek. Sandy slowly began to recover. She underwent 6 dental procedures in the months following her rescue. With each progressive one, her teeth improved and began to correct themselves. She began to chow down on food more, gained weight, and showed her smile even more. 

Sandy's story was far from over however. We discovered that she had aspiration pneumonia, which require hospitalization. Sandy was put on multiple meds and IVs. After about a week in the vet care, Sandy made it back to her home! She still required a nebulizer and constant watch, but was recovering (in signature Sandy style). With time in her nebulizer and multiple antibiotics, Sandy began to recover. She was eating more, her weight was climbing, and she began to show her curious smile again.
